Get to Know Me
Trua is a counselling & psychotherapy service for individuals, couples and families.
My name is Donna Bacon and I am a highly sensitive therapist. A core strength of mine is my ability to deeply empathise with you, supporting you through your struggle with absolute compassion and attuning to your individual needs. My perceptive ability allows me to get to the root of your issues and therefore help you to overcome the challenges you are experiencing. My unique way of achieving this blends both a practical and creative approach, working collaboratively with you to tap into your internal resources and empower you to make positive changes in your life.
For as long as I can remember, I've cared deeply about the well-being of people and have always been passionate about helping others and so I trained to Masters level in Clinical Psychology. Building on this I trained in counselling and psychotherapy and I’m now fully accredited with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Specialised training and experience includes:
The Highly Sensitive Person/Sensory Processing Sensitivity
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Family Systems Therapy
Working with Adult survivors of Sexual Abuse
Community Reinforcement Approach (Addiction)
I have also lectured for trainee and graduate psychotherapists and psychologists in Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, and IICP. My experience in mental health extends over 12 years in both community projects and organisations such as St. John of God.
